Geotechnical engineering is the branch of civil engineering concerned with the engineering behaviour of earth materials. Understanding the geotechnical properties of earth materials is fundamental to the designing safe, predictable and stable roads and buildings.
Geotechnical site investigations are a natural extension to our expertise in hydrogeological investigations. Commencing with field studies undertaken by our experienced professionals, we investigate existing subsurface conditions and materials; determining the soil Reactivity, Acid Sulfate Potential, Compactability, Classification and Permeability in own laboratories to approved and recognised standards, assessing risks posed by site conditions to determining the Site Classification in accordance to the Australian Standards AS 1726; and finally reporting to the needs of our clients on site preparation, excavations, dewatering, and fill requirements for urban and industrial developments.
